This document lists changes that Astronomer plans to make to Astro and that affect Organizations on the Developer plan. Each notice says what changes, when it changes, and what you need to do before then. Notices stay on this page after the change takes effect, as a historical record. For new features, the notice links to the release note once it’s published. To compare plans, see Compare Astro plans. For changes that already shipped, see Astro release notes.
Scheduled maintenance: Astro web and API access is unavailable on November 7, 2026, at 10 AM EST for about 3 hoursAstronomer is performing scheduled maintenance to improve Astro’s platform performance and reliability. During this window, web interfaces and API access are temporarily unavailable for all Astro Organizations. Your Dags and tasks keep running, except for tasks that depend on the affected APIs. Task execution isn’t affected, and private connectivity between the Astro network and your environment isn’t interrupted. What is offline
  • The Astro UI, Astro IDE, Otto, and Observability UI are offline for all customers.
  • The Astro API (api.astronomer.io) is offline.
  • The Airflow UI is inaccessible. If you’re already logged in during the hour before the maintenance begins, your session might keep working. To be safe, treat the Airflow UI as offline for the full window.
What keeps working
  • Your Dags run as normal. The exception is a task that calls the Astro API or Airflow API during the window. See the direct access API token recommendation below.
  • Observability and Lineage ingestion isn’t interrupted. Any data catches up after the maintenance window ends.
How the maintenance worksThis is a full cutover, not a rolling or partial change, so you won’t see a gradual transition. The web and API console go down for the window, then come back online once traffic has fully shifted to the new environment. There’s no intermediate state to watch for. What to do before November 7
  • Subscribe to status.astronomer.io. Astronomer posts all updates about the maintenance there.
  • If you need Airflow API access during the window, create a direct access API token now. It’s different from a standard API token. It lets you reach your Deployment’s Airflow API directly during the outage, and it doesn’t restore access to the Airflow UI. Only Organization Owners can create direct access API tokens. For setup instructions, see Direct access API tokens.
If you have questions before the maintenance window, contact your Astronomer team.
